Footnotes
HOTHEAD dueled from outside, cleared in upper stretch, challenged by a pair of rivals inside the sixteenth pole and gamely prevailed. FRANK BULLITT was forwardly placed four deep up the backstretch, continued to give chase in the four path around the bend, rallied three deep late and got denied. JIMMY WINKFIELD tracked the speed along the rail, asked right handed at the quarter pole, moved out at the top of the lane, rallied between foes late and also got denied. MIO BAMBINO bobbled leaving the gate, trailed then had one rival beat in the early going, went three wide into the turn, gained ground while angling five wide around the bend and improved position. MILES FINCH stalked the top pair three deep, remained in the three path on the turn and could not produce a bid. GEEZER fought for the lead from inside up the backstretch and around the turn, yielded to the winner in upper stretch and flattened in the late stages. KEEP DANCIN NICK lacked early speed, saved ground trailing through the turn and could not make an impact.
