Footnotes
DRUIDIC raced up close on the inside, challenged at the midway point, could not keep up with the top pair into the far turn, remained in range under asking on the far turn, cut the corner into the lane, came back on from inside and overhauled the top pair. CONTRARY CHIEFTAIN stalked in the two path, applied pressure three deep on the backstretch, headed the lead with a quarter mile remaining, put a head in front in upper stretch, carried a short lead into deep stretch and got outkicked by the winner. NAMELESS chased in the four path early, traveled in the two path into the second bend, angled out and came four wide into the lane, finished well from the middle part of the track, drifted in and bumped late and got up for third. ATOMIC DROP stepped to the front from inside, took pressure on the backstretch, fought on even terms at the quarter pole, lost command in upper stretch, fought to the sixteenth pole and yielded late. ZIMBA WARRIOR stalked in the three path, came under a ride on the far turn, remained three wide into the lane, closed well but took a bump from outside and steadied behind rivals late. HAPPY DOES settled in the two path, drew closer in the middle stages, entered the far turn along the rail, eased out to the five path around the bend and weakened. KINGMEISTER broke a step slow, tracked four then three wide early, crept closer on the backstretch, spun three wide into the lane and weakened. CROWN MAGIC was off slow in the beginning, tucked inside at the back and was never a factor. UPSTART YANKEE settled five deep early, exited the backstretch in the three path, angled out six wide on the far turn and had little left for the drive.
