Footnotes
TIGERHON (FR) stalked outside a rival then drew alongside the leader at the half-mile pole, hounded that rival through the turn and into the lane, dug in under right then left handed urging and edged CENTRAL DISPATCH nearing the wire. CENTRAL DISPATCH sprinted clear then showed the way with TIGERHON (FR) to the outside, carried a short lead over that rival through the turn, resisted into the final sixteenth and yielded grudgingly in the end. MALIBU COAST traveled in the middle of the pack on the inside, chased two wide leaving the bend, tipped out at the top of the stretch and showed late run to close the gap and get up for third. BOB'S BLUE MOON pulled the rider along chasing from inside up the backstretch, followed CERTAL DISPATCH around the bend, lacked room and altered out from behind the top pair at the eighth pole, finished willingly and got outkicked for third. CALM SEA tracked the leaders from the two path and whittled the gap in the final furlong. COMMANDER (FR) unhurried in the opening stages, went two wide around the bend, moved out in upper stretch, kept trying down the lane but failed to threaten. HOTROCKET (IRE) threw his head at the start to come away slow, chased three deep then outside a rival up the backstretch, remained two wide through the turn, tipped out at the top of the lane and weakened. ELEGANT LIFE also threw his head and broke slow, trailed up the backstretch, went three deep into the turn, angled down to the rail around the bend and was never a factor. MINISTER SHANE broke a step slow, saved ground from off the pace, sustained an injury at the eighth pole, eased to a stop in deep stretch and was transported off the track via equine ambulance.
