GRAND SLAM SMILE cleared the field and showed the way from inside, controlled the pace to the far turn, roused late on the bend when feeling MARS MAGIC bearing down to the outside, remained clear under right handed encouragement to the sixteenth and held over a pair of outer rivals late. TAKE ANOTHER CARD reserved along the rail in the early going, had to wait when boxed in around the far turn, swung out in upper stretch, rallied four deep into the last sixteenth, drew alongside GRAND SLAM SMILE late but ran out of ground. QUICK KATE was fractious in the gate, tracked from the two path around both turns, tipped three wide into the stretch, rallied three deep in the final furlong and got outkicked for the place honors. PRANCINGTHRUPARIS stalked the speed from the rail position, saved ground through the far turn, cut the corner into the stretch, finished willingly along the fence but lacked the needed late punch. MARS MAGIC was closest in pursuit from the two path in the early going, took aim at the winner with a quarter mile remaining, chased determinedly down the stretch but could not find the needed late kick. SUNSET GRAZEN trailed in the two path around the first turn, moved out three deep on the backstretch, angled to the rail around the far turn and weakened. OM N JOY started to pull not too long after the start, went three deep around the clubhouse turn, tugged early on the backstretch, remained three deep to the far turn, fell out of range around the bend and tired in the stretch.
