ONE SMOKIN DUDE chased along the rail then moved into the two path late on the bend, challenged the top pair from inside entering the final furlong, battled inside INSTINCT D' ORO in deep stretch and got up at the wire. INSTINCT D' ORO away quickest to take the lead then relinquished the advantage to THE BIG CHEESEOLA, challenged that rival from outside with a quarter mile remaining, put a head in front at the top of the lane, led under pressure into the final sixteenth, resisted into the final strides and got nailed on the line. DIRTY WORDS chased four then three deep up the backstretch, remained in the three path on the turn, challenged from outside in upper stretch, fought three deep late and could not summon the needed final kick. THE BIG CHEESEOLA took control from INSTINCT D' ORO early, led along the inside around the bend, challenged by that rival at the quarter pole, lost command at the top of the stretch, fought on to midstretch, then weakened in the last sixteenth. BLUEGRASS GO GO chased from off the pace, entered the turn along the inside, eased off the fence then got floated to the four path by HOT CHICKS ONLY at the quarter pole and could not threaten in the lane. ATOMIC DROP threw his head and hopped a bit at the start to spot the field a few lengths, saved ground from well off the pace and failed to menace. RUNKERRY coaxed along early from off the pace, went two wide into the turn, got carried wide at the quarter pole and failed to respond after. HOT CHICKS ONLY chased between rivals early, started to weaken under asking on the turn, drifted out a bit at the quarter pole and tired in the stretch. TIZ'S HARBOR reared in the gate and was held by the starter for too long, trailed the field throughout and could not recover from a poor beginning. FOLLOWING AN INQUIRY, THE STEWARDS RULED THAT TIZ'S HARBOR WAS NOT AWARDED A FAIR START AND IS DECLARED A NON-STARTER.
