FORMIDABLE MAN tracked the top pair from along the rail around the first turn, moved into range in the two path on the second bend, challenged from outside at the top of the lane, seized control past the eighth pole, emerged clear with a sixteenth remaining and stayed strong to the wire. ALMENDARES (GB) angled to the inside trailing the field in the early going, passed a rival with three furlongs remaining, angled out and was given his cue at the top of the stretch, finished well between runners late and got up for second but could not threaten the winner. KING OF GOSFORD (GB) was a bit fractious in the gate, traveled in mid-pack two wide around the clubhouse turn, coaxed along while moving to the three path on the second bend, moved out further in the lane and rallied for third. SEAL TEAM (GB) steered to the inside while dropping off the pace, drew closer along the rail then in the two path on the far turn, angled out and took aim at the leader in upper stretch, chased within striking distance in the final sixteenth but finished evenly. GENIUS JIMMY was antsy in the gate, dueled for the lead from inside to the backstretch, failed to keep up with CALL ME CORY and stalked that rival at the midway point, saved ground through the far turn, roused while shifted off the the rail a bit turning for home, finished willingly between rivals in the late stages but lacked the needed late punch. MI HERMANO RAMON stalked the top pair outside a rival early, went up to challenge the leader into the far turn, put a head in front with a quarter mile remaining, put CALL ME CORY away entering the lane, challenged by FORMIDABLE MAN shortly after, clung to a narrow advantage at the eighth pole, then yielded to the winner and weakened in deep stretch. TWIRLING POINT allowed to settle outside a rival towards the back, continued two wide into the far turn, steered out to the four path around the bend and lacked further response. CALL ME CORY went up to fight for the lead outside GENIUS JIMMY early, cleared that rival on the backstretch and moved inside, challenged by MI HARMANO RAMON entering the far turn, was overtaken at the quarter pole, could not kick on with the new leader at the top of the stretch and gave way in the final furlong.
