Footnotes
STRONGHOLD followed closely from outside up the backstretch, applied pressure to SIMPLE SONG midway around the turn, fought on even terms entering the lane, put SIMPLE SONG away in upper stretch and remained strong under right handed urging and steady handling. SIMPLE SONG raced up close keenly in hand then moved clear to take control, took pressure from STRONG HOLD at the five-sixteenths pole, dueled leaving the turn, yielded to the winner in upper stretch and stayed on to secure second. BARTHOLDY tracked off the rail then between rivals leaving the backstretch, asked in the two path through the turn and finished evenly to earn the show honors. THE GOAT (CHI) away quickest and led for a bit before ceding command to SIMPLE SONG, chased from inside to the stretch and weakened in the drive. THE LAST STRAW unhurried in the opening stages and angled off the inside, followed in range three deep into the turn, remained in the three path to the stretch and weakened.
