CONFIDENCE MAN was off slow to begin, chased from inside at the back then had one beat into the turn, split foes and gained in the two path on the turn, angled in upper stretch, rallied inside the top pair and overtook POSITIVE TIMES in the final strides. POSITIVE TIMES bobbled leaving the gate but still came away quickly, vied inside a pair of rivals then dueled past the half-mile pole, carried a short lead exiting the turn, lost the lead in upper stretch, regained the lead past the eighth pole, put PROOF HE GOES away in the last sixteenth while fighting with CONFIDENCE MAN and got passed near the wire. ZAKIEL chased out of range while widest up the backstretch, rounded the bend four to five wide, showed late interest in the final furlong and got by PROOF HE GOES for third. PROOF HE GOES fought three deep for the lead then dueled from outside past the half-mile pole, battled around the turn and into the lane, took a narrow advantage in upper stretch, relinquished the lead past the eighth pole, weakened in the last sixteenth and lost third. WHAT HAS BEEN followed in range from off the rail early, went three wide into the turn, lost ground while moving to the five path around the bend and lacked a response in the lane. FOREVER BEN bobbled a bit for a few strides leaving the gate but still came away with the field, tracked the top pair from inside, dropped back on the turn, hugged the rail to the stretch and came up empty in the lane. HE GOT LIT vied between rivals for the lead, got put in tight by PROFF HE GOES at the half-mile pole, chased two wide into the turn and quickly moved to the three path, lost ground around the bend and tired in the drive. This race was originally hand-timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate times available.
