Footnotes
MAGNIFICAT showed the way early outside REVERA, cleared that rival at the half-mile pole, went two wide into the turn then moved over to the rail with SYNTAX drawing alongside, carried a short lead into the final furlong and dug in to prevail. SYNTAX stalked from outside in the opening stages, drew alongside MAGNIFICAT on the turn, dueled down the lane but could not summon the needed late kick to go by. REVERA pressed the leader from inside then followed closely past the half-mile pole, stayed on the inside through the turn, weakened in the drive but was able to save third. ANTIFONA (FR) stalked from inside, crept closer into the turn but lost a clear path and had to steady at the seven-sixteenths marker, steered out to the three path, chased within range to the eighth pole, then weakened in the late stages.
