Footnotes
HOW ABOUT PAVEL stepped to the front and moved inside, took pressure past the half-mile pole, moved clear early on the far turn, showed the way unchallenged into the final sixteenth, came under threat from a pair of rivals late and was able to last. MY PERFECT WAVE tracked along the rail, moved off the fence on the backstretch, drew closer in the two path then along the rail on the far turn, moved into second at the eighth pole, dug in late and just missed. SAKURA FLAVOR (IRE) followed in range in the two path, moved out three deep in the middle stages, chased three wide through the far turn, dug in late but also ran out of time. ALERAMO (IRE) stalked from inside, drifted out a bit and had to steady at the three-eighths pole, dropped back while continuing to try to get out on the turn, trailed two wide into the lane, came back on and finished well to earn a minor award. LOVELY MEDAGLIA stalked the speed from the two path, moved up to press the leader for a bit past the half-mile pole, failed to keep up and chased two wide around the far turn, followed within striking distance through the lane but finished evenly. GIGGLE GIGGLE unhurried from the gate and dropped back to last, tugged two then three wide around the first turn, moved out four deep on the backstretch while continuing to race keenly in hand, remained wideset through the far turn and could not produce a bid.
