NONE ABOVE THE LAW controlled the pace along the rail, challenged by MIDNIGHT STRIKE with a quarter mile remaining, lost command in upper stretch, fought back through the final furlong and edged the runner-up in the final strides. MIDNIGHT STRIKE was closest in pursuit through the early going in the two path, latched onto NONE ABOVE THE LAW late on the far turn, grabbed the lead in upper stretch, fought head to head in deep stretch and got outkicked. SABERTOOTH tracked in the two path, drew closer around the far turn, came under a ride turning for home, chased determinedly through the final furlong but could only close the gap on the top pair. LAHAINA FLAVOR raced outside a rival near the back, continued two wide around the far turn, moved out a bit in upper stretch and lacked a rally. ATOMIC AGE saved ground from off the pace, coaxed along on the far turn, moved out a bit in upper stretch and never threatened. ZALAMO (FR) tucked inside at the back, stayed on the fence to the stretch, then moved out to pass a tired rival. KING OF CLUBS stalked the pace from the fence, coaxed along at the half-mile pole, ridden through the far turn while continuing to save ground and tired in the lane.
