TAKING A JOY RIDE stalked the top pair outside a rival, roused three wide with a quarter mile left to run, challenged the top pair at the top of the lane, grabbed the lead at the eight pole and drove clear. VOLCANOLOGIST forwardly placed on the inside, saved ground to the stretch, stayed on the fence and got boxed in outside the eighth pole, gained a clear path past that marker and finished willingly to gain second. GRAZENINTHEGRASS settled inside, came off the rail a bit into the stretch, moved out further in the lane, finished full of run and gained third. COME ON OM set the pace under pressure, carried a short lead around the turn, lost command at the eighth pole and weakened in the final sixteenth. I'M NO SWIFTY pressed the pace from outside, fought between in upper stretch, then weakened in the final furlong. MARLA HOOCH coaxed along near the back, went two wide into the turn, eased out to the four path on the turn, tipped out further at the top of the stretch and improved position. IDIOT STRAITS got crowded shortly after the start, chased at the back then went between rivals but got crowded once more at the nine-sixteenths pole, moved to the inside, asked right handed into the lane and lacked a rally. PROMISES OF GOLD traveled outside a rival then off the rail toward the back, took the turn two to three wide, swung five wide late on the bend, angled inward entering the lane, moved back out shortly after and improved position. ROUSING RHYTHM was fractious in the gate, trailed on the inside to the stretch and passed tired rivals. UNUSUALEXIS laid off the pace four deep, stayed in the four path through the turn and failed to menace. JUST MENDELSSOHN raced three deep between rivals from off the pace, took the turn three wide and had little left for the drive. SALLY SAYS was fractious in the gate, chased outside a rival in mid-pack, between foes late on the turn and weakened.
