MISS MIDTERM was part of early speed brigade while three deep, dueled outside MISTY COAL, grabbed advantage on the turn then shook clear entering the stretch and lasted under couple of right handed taps and some strong handling. VALLENDAR pursued top pair down the backstretch, continued prominently two then three wide into the stretch and whittled gap on winner in final sixteenth while narrowly missing between rivals. THEBEACHISBACK settled off the leaders, came in slightly, stalked three wide, continued on same path to the stretch, came out under left handed urging in the drive and closed belatedly to also narrowly miss while three abreast at the finish. NINETEEN FORTY TWO chased outside LEADING LADY then MAUDE to the turn, continued three wide and later between foes and finished with interest. MAUDE settled off the pace, trailed then angled over to the rail, came back out two then three wide and was no threat late. LEADING LADY was off bit slow, chased along the rail, saved ground to the stretch, came back out thru the stretch while never menacing. MISTY COAL was sent up inside, engaged winner into and early on the turn, lost contact with that rival later on the bend and weakened.
