FORGED STEEL showed good speed from the gate and was close up to the early pace, prompted TAIF through moderate fractions into the backstretch, took command into the far turn, kept to task through the lane and held sway to the wire. CALDERA settled in the second flight to begin, was well placed while three to four wide along the backstretch, roused four wide into the far turn, chased his stablemate into the stretch, couldn't reel in FORGED STEEL into the final sixteenth but bested the rest for the place. NEVADA BEACH forwardly placed in the early stages while outside of runners, tracked the moderate pace three wide nearing the half-mile marker, coaxed between runners nearing the quarter marker, got caught between rivals into upper stretch, fought on late but couldn't impact the leading pair and outfinished MR. A. P. for the show honors. MR. A. P. settled in the second flight and saved ground to the backstretch, chased two wide into the far turn, ran in pursuit of the winner into upper stretch, couldn't keep pace with the top pair into the drive, flattened out late and was outfinished for the show. ORIGINAL SIN slow into stride away from the gate and trailed early, moved to the outside into the backstretch, coaxed three wide to the far turn, ran in pursuit to upper stretch and failed to threaten late. MIDNIGHT MAMMOTH asked for run away from the gate, got caught in tight, steadied and lost position in the opening furlong, settled to the backstretch and trailed into the far turn, swung widest to upper stretch then improved position in the drive. TAIF hustled from the gate, assumed early command and set a moderate pace to the backstretch, led to the far turn, couldn't hold off oncoming rivals nearing the three-eighths pole and gave way. VODKA VODKA caught in tight and between runners in the early stages, raced on heels approaching the first turn then settled to the backstretch, kept an inside path to the far turn, coaxed two wide to the quarter marker, lacked a response in the lane, was eased through the stretch and walked off. MCAFEE settled off of the early pace, was caught in tight while two wide approaching the first turn and steadied into that bend, coaxed two wide and between runners into the backstretch, lacked the needed response approaching the quarter marker, was eased through the lane and walked off.
