MIGHTY KAI coaxed along early while dropping back to last, traveled in the two path around the clubhouse turn, angled four wide while closing in around the second bend, loomed from outside turning for home, dueled outside JOINT VENTURE in the final furlong and proved best in the end. JOINT VENTURE stalked from inside or a bit off the rail, drew closer in the two path on the far turn, tipped three wide to challenge the top pair at the quarter pole, took over entering the stretch, fought with MIGHTY KAI in the furlong grounds and was bested by the winner. MAJESTIC PALISADES vied between rivals to the seven-sixteenths pole, fought along the rail around the far turn, could not match strides with the outer leaders into the final furlong and stayed on to secure third. SOI NGERN fought with outer pair for the early lead, stayed alongside up the backstretch before yielding into the far turn, remained close along the fence to the stretch, churned on through the lane but could not find the needed late response. DEL MAR JERRY vied three deep through the early going, dueled from outside into the far turn, led between rivals late on the bend, lost the lead turning for home and flattened in the late stages. HABEAS tracked four wide around the first turn, trailed into the far turn, tired around the bend, eased through the lane and crossed the wire, then walked off following the race.
