Footnotes
HUGHES stalked in hand along the inside, steered outside at the half-mile pole, bid three deep early on the far turn, dueled outside NET PAR midway around the bend, seized control past the quarter pole, opened up under hand urging and coasted the last sixteenth. NET PAR showed the way inside DOMUS around the first turn, headed by that rival on the backstretch, held a short lead over outer pair early on the far turn, dueled inside HUGHES at the five-sixteenths pole, relinquished the lead late on the bend, could not kick on with HUGHES in upper stretch but was clearly second best. IMPERIAL HONOR tracked in the two path early, came under a ride in the three path on the far turn, went outside DOMUS at the quarter pole, lacked the needed rally to threaten the top pair but was able to best the rest. DOMUS pressed the pace from outside, moved up on even terms in the middle stages, came under a ride when starting to lose touch with NET PAR at the three-eighths pole, watched the top pair kick away with a quarter mile remaining and weakened in the lane. EMANCIPATE raced at the back in the three path into the first turn then moved to the four path, cleared DANG SON on the backstretch and moved inward for the far turn, traveled two wide to the stretch and failed to menace. DANG SON settled two then three wide early, steered widest on the backstretch, rounded the far turn in the four path, had little left for the drive, eased in the final furlong and walked off.
