Footnotes
SPRINGLINE prompted the pace from outside, took the lead approaching the halfway point, kicked clear from DANZIG TIL DAWN past the three-eighths pole, padded the lead in upper stretch, ridden out to the sixteenth pole and was in hand late. GOOD GOLLY DOLLY tracked the top pair in the three path, moved to the two path on the far turn, gained second with five-sixteenths remaining, chased after SPRINGLINE through the lane but had to settle for a clear second. UNION HEIRESS unhurried in the opening stages and settled in the three path, moved into range while staying away from the rail on the backstretch, continued three wide or three deep into the lane and outdueled SUGAR REIGN for the show honors. SUGAR REIGN moved into the two path pursuing out of striking distance early, drew closer in the middle stages, traveled along the inside into the far turn then moved to the two path, chased between rivals at the quarter pole and lost a duel for third. DANZIG TIL DAWN set the pace from inside under pressure, lost command nearing the half-mile pole, fought back to the far turn, failed to kick on with the winner past the three-eighths pole, started to weaken around that bend and tired down the lane.
