Footnotes
STARK CONTRAST showed brief speed inside rivals then took a stalking position approaching the clubhouse turn, moved from the rail to the two path around the bend, rounded the far turn two to three wide, challenged from outside at the top of the lane, dueled with PROLETRIAT into the final sixteenth and proved best late. THIRD BEER angled in following the leaders into the first turn then quickly moved into the two path. found the rail once more on the backstretch, came under a ride while tipped out to the three path around the far turn, moved out widest in upper stretch, then finished well to edge PROLETARIAT for the place honors. PROLETARIAT vied four deep briefly prior to the clubhouse turn, took stalking position while moving from the three to two path around the bend, drew alongside WON FOR LOU on the far turn, headed that rival at the quarter pole, took the lead late on the bend, put WON FOR LOU away while being confronted by STARK CONTRAST in upper stretch, dueled into the last sixteenth, relinquished the lead to that rival and lost second in the closing moments. CARO BUONO (FR) vied between rivals then ceded command and stalked along the inside, saved ground following WON FOR LOU through the far turn, shifted off the rail at the top of the stretch, chased determinedly into the final furlong but flattened out in deep stretch. WON FOR LOU vied three deep between rivals briefly then cleared and moved inside on the first turn, showed the way up the backstretch, took pressure from PROLETARIAT on the far turn, raced on even terms at the quarter pole, lost command shortly after, failed to kick on with the leaders approaching the eighth pole and weakened.
