LAUDATORY unhurried while finding the two path then moved to the rail, continued two wide into the far turn, angled out and came five wide into the lane, rallied from the middle of the track and edged inner pair late. DEFIANCE broke a step slow, raced three then two wide towards the rear, gained while angling four wide around the second turn, challenged in upper stretch, put a head in front at the eighth pole, fought between late and got outkicked by the winner. CORPORAL VIOLETTE (IRE) tracked in the two path out of range, moved into striking distance leaving the backstretch, took aim three wide turning for home, led into deep stretch but got outkicked by the top pair. ESMERAY (IRE) sat off the pace two wide then along the rail, gained two then there wide on the second bend, finished willingly down the lane but lacked the needed final kick. MOTET pursued from inside in range, fell out of range on the backstretch, drew closer into the far turn, tipped two wide at the quarter pole, bid in upper stretch but was outfinished in the late stages. STARTS NOW raced in mid-pack two wide early, chased in range while angling to the four path on the far turn and failed to produce a bid. GYPSY WOMAN (IRE) was closest in pursuit in the two path, challenged from outside with three furlongs remaining, took over at the quarter pole, lost command with a furlong remaining and weakened late. SHY ANN tucked inside at the back then moved into the two path, continued two wide through the far turn and failed to threaten. BEETS settled in mid-pack on the inside, saved ground to the lane, raced in tight at the eighth pole and failed to menace once in the clear. DOUBLE CAPPUCCINO saved ground near the back early, fell back to last on the far turn, cut the corner into the lane and passed a tired rival. NEEDLEPOINT (IRE) controlled the tempo along the inside in the opening stages, took pressure at the three-eighths pole, lost command at the quarter pole and retreated in the stretch.
