ONE OF THESE DAYS (IRE) tucked inside at the back, went outside a rival on the backstretch, angled out and came four wide into the lane, closed well four deep late and drove past inner rivals. SMART CODE bumped with MR. LEASURE prior to the first while showing early speed, took a stalking position around the bend, bid two wide leaving the backstretch, dueled around the far turn, took over in upper stretch, carried a short lead into the final sixteenth and got run down by the winner. MR. LEASURE made contact with SMART CODE early while vying for command from inside, cleared around the bend, took pressure leaving the backstretch, dueled around the second bend, was overtaken in upper stretch, fought back through the final furlong and proved a game third. SKETCHY stalked two wide, moved inside and drew closer on the backstretch, drafted behind the leader on the far turn, tipped out into the lane, finished willingly between late but lacked the needed late punch. SPEARFISH settled off the pace next to the rail, gained ground around the far turn, chased within range to the eighth pole and flattened out. PACIFIC QUEST vied for the lead briefly three deep then stalked in the three path, remained three wide through the far turn and faded down the lane. IRISH PROPHET traveled near the back of the pack in the two path, crept closer in the middle stages, fell back to last between rivals on the far turn, tired and eased in the lane, then walked off.
