Footnotes
THIRD BEER bumped at the start, was forced to check early, laid off the pace two wide, angled four wide around the bend, steered out widest in the lane, rallied eight deep and proved best in the end. FEELING LUCKY bumped leaving the gate, tracked between rivals, took the turn two then three wide, rallied between down the stretch and got outclosed by the winner. OWL bothered by outer rival and steadied early, tracked three then four wide, bid six deep in the lane and got outkicked by the top pair. MOMENT OF VALOR settled inside, picked up stride while coming off the rail around the bend, finished willingly down the lane but lacked the needed late punch. FRANK BULLITT got crowded between rivals shortly after the start, trailed on the inside, shifted to the two path to pass a rival at the five-sixteenths pole, cut back to the inside, finished well splitting foes in the lane but got going too late. GOING NOWHERE stalked three deep then outside a rival, bid three deep a quarter mile out, took over midstretch and flattened out late. KERRY GOLD sat off the pace on the inside, moved to the two path around the bend, came out further in the drive and produced a mild rally. THE G M chased for a bit then went up to apply pressure from outside, dueled around the bend, led in upper stretch, lost command midstretch and flattened. MILES FINCH stalked from inside, waited behind the leaders on the turn, lacked room and took up at the sixteenth pole and could not regain momentum. GREY'S BOY cleared quickly and crossed over, took pressure from THE G M up the backstretch, dueled around the bend, lost command in upper stretch and weakened. SPEED OF ELON trailed the field in the opening stages, took the turn two then three wide and proved no menace. JIMMY WINKFIELD tracked from inside out of range, eased on the turn, eventually crossed the wire and walked off.
