Footnotes
HIDING IN HONDURAS stalked from inside, followed behind the leader to the far turn, given his cue with a quarter mile remaining, moved off the fence a bit in the lane, latched onto TEMPUS VOLAT past the sixteenth pole and dug in to edge that rival at the wire. TEMPUS VOLAT stepped to the front and moved inside, set all the pace to the stretch, showed the way clear into the last sixteenth while rivals were bearing down, met the challenge from HIDING IN HONDURAS and yielded grudgingly in the end. NAMARON (GER) tracked from the two path to the far turn, took aim three wide turning for home, chased determinedly through the final furlong but could not summon the needed late kick. FRIENDLY CONFINES stalked the pacesetter outside a rival or in the two path, came under a ride exiting the far turn, chased between rivals in the final furlong and finished evenly late. LYLE THE CROCODILE (IRE) trailed in the two path early, steered to the rail on the backstretch, came off the rail a bit midway around the far turn, angled out in the lane, kept trying down the stretch but needed to find more. GEOMETRY settled next to the fence, moved off the rail in the middle stages, rounded the far turn three then four wide, chased three deep into the stretch and failed to respond when asked.
