Footnotes
NAIVE MELODY broke awkwardly but in the front half of the field, went to the front, set the pace under pressure to her outside, dropped from the two path to the inside very early on the turn, responded well when asked at the quarter-pole, came under a right-handed crop in upper stretch, shook off the runner-up in the final furlong, pricked her ears while waiting on competition late and proved best under good handling. SPEIGHTFUL LILY pressed the pace on the outside of the leader, dropped from the three path to the two path very early on the turn, was given her cue near the five-sixteenths pole, came under the crop in upper stretch, battled with the winner in the final furlong and was outfinished while clear for the place. HELEN'S REVENGE had her saddle adjusted behind the gate, bumped solidly with an opponent at the start, was urged along near the back, went around the turn in the four path, turned into the stretch in the six path, remained on her inside lead while gaining under a right-handed crop until the sixteenth-pole, swapped to the proper lead when switched to a left-handed crop at that juncture and improved for the show. I'M A CUTIE PIE settled off the pace, was urged along late on the backstretch, saved ground on the turn, tossed her head and steadied behind a foe in upper stretch, squeezed through inside rivals inside the furlong marker and also improved. SPECTACULAR GREY came outward at the start, chased the pace on the outside, moved from the five path to the four path very early on the turn, pursued the leader into the final furlong, drifted in some around the sixteenth-pole and tired. CHATTER broke out then bumped with a foe and was last away, settled near the back, was roused in the two path on the turn, moved closer to the three path late on that bend and failed to threaten. P MUTTER PICKLE was well placed down the backstretch, passed the half-mile pole under urging, raced inside to the two path on the turn and lacked the needed response. MILA CANDY tracked the pace on the inside of a rival, moved from the four path to the three path while asked early on the turn, chased into the stretch and came up empty. COACH ALBERT LADY was urged along well off the pace, went around the turn in the three path and was no factor.
