NEW YORK SCRAPPY chased along the inside patiently handled until set down spinning just off the inside into upper stretch, took to the rail inside the three-sixteenths, rallied to take command just inside the eighth pole, dug in under threat and held game to the wire. VAN VOLLENHOVEN broke out at the start brushing THREE THIRTEEN, chased two to three wide coming under a ride nearing the quarter pole, angled out five wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive brushing with JOKER ON FIRE in the final forty yards and missed at the end. CRISTOBAL three then two wide in pursuit, got coaxed along three furlongs out, angled four wide into upper stretch, kicked on belatedly to the wire. TRUMAN'S COMMANDER just off the inside in pursuit from mid pack, got coaxed along at the five-sixteenths pole, angled six wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild kick. JOKER ON FIRE coaxed from the gate, raced four wide in aim of the top pair, got set down spinning four wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive, traded a brush with VAN VOLLENHOVEN forty yards from home and was out-finished in the very late stages. B PROVOCATEUR got bumped after the start by THREE THIRTEEN, dueled three wide under urging from the five-sixteenths pole with THREE THIRTEEN to his inside, spun two to three wide for home and weakened in the late stages. DILIELLO coaxed from the start, chased along the inside under a ride with five-sixteenths remaining, took the inside route into upper stretch, had no kick. MOONLIGHT DRIVE chased three to four wide under encouragement from three furlongs out, went seven wide into upper stretch, offered no response. RHYTON leapt at the start and was away last, chased four then three wide under a ride from the three-eighths marker, tipped five wide at the top of the stretch, made no impact. THREE THIRTEEN got brushed at the break by VAN VOLLENHOVEN and then bumped B PROVOCATEUR, dueled from the two path with that rival to the outside, came under coaxing at the five-sixteenths pole, took the inside route into upper stretch and weakened. EPITAPH coaxed from the start, chased five then four wide coming under coaxing at the three-eighths pole, faded and went seven to eight wide into upper stretch and tired.
