SLAY THE DAY broke alertly then showed speed, pressed the pace on the inside of the leader, drew even late on the backstretch, took a short lead while inside on the turn, shook clear when asked for her best in upper stretch and proved best under a moderate hand-ride. HEN PARTY dropped back after the start, lagged at the rear under urging, saved ground on the turn and finished well for the place. CADENZA was well placed just off the pace, saved ground on the turn, came off the hedge while put to a drive in upper stretch, chased the winner into the final sixteenth and lacked the needed kick then lost the place but was clear for the show. FLOWERHEAD (IRE) bobbled at the start, dropped back then settled towards the rear, saved ground on the turn, moved to the two path outside the quarter-pole, spun into the stretch in the three path, moved out from behind horses and forced KINGSOLVER out in upper stretch and lacked the needed response. KINGSOLVER was hustled from the gate then chased the pace, went around the turn in the two path, turned into the stretch in the four path, was forced out by FLOWERHEAD near the three-sixteenths pole and came up empty. SHOULD'VE was urged along on the outside, ranged up in the three path on the turn, made a bid outside the five-sixteenths pole, was asked for her best in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and capitulated. ALPENGLOW chased the pace on the outside then in the two path on the turn and had nothing left.
