Footnotes
METATRON'S MUSE dropped back between horses nearing the first turn then angled in, moved from the rail to the two path late on that bend, was reserved off the pace, moved closer around the nine-sixteenths pole, was roused in the two then three path on the far turn, rallied in the five path into the stretch, closed well to get the lead coming to the furlong marker, battled outside of PETROLO into the final sixteenth, fought outside of two foes late and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. POLAR BEAR PLUNGE was hustled from the gate then taken in hand into the first turn, saved ground while rated just off the pace, dropped back near the nine-sixteenths pole then came under urging, chased inside on the far turn, pursued the leaders under a drive into the final furlong, gained to make a bid at the sixteenth-pole, battled inside of two opponents to the finish and just missed while narrowly able to get the place. PETROLO was sent to the front, went around the opening bend in the two path, showed the way down the backstretch, vied inside on the far turn, shook clear at the five-sixteenths pole, came under the crop in upper stretch, lost the advantage near the furlong marker, fought on well into the final sixteenth, battled between the top two late and just missed while clear for the show. SHIPSATIONAL raced in the three path on the first turn, settled outside under some urging, was ridden along in the four then five path on the far turn, turned into the stretch in the six path and lacked the needed response. CATCH THE SMOKE was hustled from the gate, rounded the first turn in the two path, was well placed just off the pace, moved up to make a bid near the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the two path on the far turn, dropped back at the five-sixteenths pole, chased under a drive into the final furlong and tired. PROVE WORTHY was hustled from the gate, raced inside to the two path on the first turn, moved out entering the backstretch then came further out, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, went around the far turn in the three path, swung out to the seven path into the stretch and failed to threaten. LAUGHING BOY established a forward position early, traveled around the first turn in the three path, prompted the pace on the outside, chased late on the backstretch, dropped back in the three then four path on the far turn and retreated.
