WHITE SMOKE RISING traded a bump at the start with MAGNANIMOUS MAX, chased five then four paths off the rail down the backstretch just off the top pair, tucked three wide through the turn and advanced coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, continued three wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive coming inwards slightly a furlong out just after HIT THE POST backed away from between foes, seized command a sixteenth from home and edged away to the finish in the final jumps to score. PRIVATE DESIRE hustled from the gate, dueled briefly with HIT THE POST, then shook away to a brief sole lead tucked to the two path before coming under pressure from that rival and then also from the top one, came under urging with five-sixteenths to go, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, dug in stubborn until collared a sixteenth out, ran on to safely preserve the place honors at the end. SILVER TALENT chased along the inside under a ride from three furlongs out, spun three wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild kick.
