LIBERTY'S SECRET broke out a step at the start and was corrected, chased three then two wide coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths to run, angled five to six wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command nearing the eighth pole, edged clear under a drive to prevail. CARMEN AMALIA established the front and showed the way in hand just off the inside and then along the inside coming under a ride with five-sixteenths to go, took the inside route into upper stretch under threat, dug in and yielded the front near the eighth pole, ran on to preserve the place honors clear of the rest. LIBERTY'S ADVANCE broke out at the start and was corrected, pressed the pace four paths off the inside down the backstretch and then just off the inside through the turn coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, swung four to five wide into upper stretch, had the rider lose the handle on the crop from the right hand straightened away, kept on under a drive well clear of the rest to secure the show honors. GARDEN OF GRACE hit the near side stall at the start, chased two to three wide from the tail of the field, came under coaxing with seven-sixteenths to run, swung four wide into upper stretch and passed tired rivals.
