Footnotes
OLE CRAZY BONE went to the the front, was well rated while setting the pace mostly on the inside, responded well when asked at the quarter-pole, came under a right-handed crop in upper stretch, fought with the runner-up into the final furlong, held off that foe under a drive into the final forty yards, was eased up by the rider about three strides from the finish and just held. FORT GEORGE (GB) went around the first turn in the four then three path, stalked the pace on the outside in the two to three path, moved closer to the leader with seven furlongs to run, turned up the pressure on that foe in the two path on the far turn, battled outside under a left-handed crop while remaining on his inside lead in upper stretch, swapped to the proper lead outside the sixteenth-pole, fought outside the winner to the finish and just missed while able to hold the place. MINARET STATION hit the outside of the gate at the start, dropped from the two path to the inside on the first turn, saved ground while unhurried towards the back, was urged along on the final turn, cut the corner into the stretch, moved out under a left-handed crop inside the furlong marker then switched to a right-handed crop and closed strongly but missed while clear for the show. DESVIO checked sharply between horses into the first turn, settled outside in the two to three path, was urged along on the final turn, turned into the stretch in the four path and lacked the needed response. CARSON'S RUN was reserved at the rear while inside to the two path, came under urging late on the final turn, swung out to the five path into the stretch and failed to rally. SOLEIL VOLANT went around the first turn in the two path, settled while saving ground, was asked on the third turn, spun into the stretch in the two path while under the crop and also failed to rally.
