Footnotes
PROFESSOR PLUM was urged along on the outside, dropped from the six path to the four path early on the turn, rallied in the five path into the stretch, closed strongly to make a bid into the final furlong, took the lead at the sixteenth-pole and prevailed under strong urging. ROAD SHOW dropped back while lacking speed, tossed his head while angling in outside the half-mile pole, went around the turn in the two path, swung out to the seven path into the stretch, drifted out near the furlong marker then was straightened by the rider and finished fast while coming in some but was too late while up for the place. FIVE GRAND was urged along off the pace, dropped from the five path to the two path on the turn then moved back to the three path, spun into the stretch in the six path and finished willingly to get the show. SARATOGA TEA was hustled from the gate, chased the leading duo on the outside, went around the turn in the three path, made a bid into upper stretch, battled under a drive into the final furlong, fought between horses into the final sixteenth and was outfinished while just able to hold fourth position. BANKER BULL was hustled from the gate, disputed the pace along the rail while inside of a foe, fought on well into the final sixteenth and weakened. HONEST OWEN was hustled from the start, contested the pace on the outside, vied in the two path on the turn, battled under a drive in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and tired. SWEET REDEMPTION chased the pace, dropped back leaving the backstretch, moved from the four path to the two path early on the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path and came up empty. SILVER KNIGHT broke awkwardly and was last to commence, angled in early then moved up under urging, raced inside to the two path on the turn and failed to threaten. ROADHOUSE WARRIOR moved in while urged towards the rear, went around the turn in the three to four path, came out to the eight path into the stretch and faltered.
