Footnotes
CHESTER BOY got brushed at the start by ASKED AND ANSWERED, settled tracking just off the pace just off the inside and then along the inside patiently handled until set down spinning three wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command just inside the three-sixteenths marker, edged away inside the eighth pole, then held safe to the finish over a closing rival. ALGHERO got brushed at the start by ARABIAN POWER, who stumbled outwards, chased two to three wide from mid pack, tucked inside through the far turn and came under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, spun three to four wide for home and offered up a mild kick to latch on the top one as he hit the wire. MOUNT SOPRIS coaxed from the gate, chased just off the inside and then along the inside under a ride from the five-sixteenths pole, angled five wide into upper stretch and offered up a mild bid. MINOTAUR just off the inside through the first turn, chased three wide from near the rear of the field coming under urging five-sixteenths from home, angled five wide into upper stretch and kept on to the finish. ARABIAN POWER stumbled outwards at the break and brushed ALGHERO, established a narrow command and showed the way in hand just off the inside through the first turn and then two to three paths off the rail down the backstretch, tucked inside through the far turn and was patiently handled until set down spinning just off the inside into upper stretch, got collared just inside the three-sixteenths marker and weakened in the late stages. FRANKLIN DELANO raced just of the inside through the first turn settling just off the pace, chased three wide in range until shuffled back from the five-sixteenths pole to the quarter pole in behind the backing up HE'S A PIPER, spun just off the inside into upper stretch escaping that rival, made mild progress while making no headway positionally to the wire. ASKED AND ANSWERED broke out at the start brushing CHESTER BOY, chased two to three wide from the tail of the field, came under urging at the five-sixteenths marker, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch and made no impact. ALLEY OOP chased just off the inside and then along the inside from near the rear of the field, came under urging with five-sixteenths remaining, spun three wide for home and made no impact. HE'S A PIPER three wide through the first turn in closest aim of the leader, chased four then three wide coming under urging at the five-sixteenths, faded from that station to the quarter pole taking FRANKLIN DELANO with him in behind, went four to five wide at the head of the lane and tired in the stretch.
