Footnotes
ENGLISH LAW went around the first turn in the three path, settled on the outside but was given some cover, traveled around the far turn in the three then four path, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole, rallied outside in upper stretch, closed strongly to make a bid outside the sixteenth-pole and got up to prevail under good handling. COACH CASE angled in early, was well placed while rated just off the pace on the inside, drafted along the rail on the far turn, waited behind horses into the stretch then was asked near the three-sixteenths, paused while thinking about moving to the outside of the leader despite room on the inside coming to the furlong marker, stayed inside then was put back to urging, gained to make a rail bid outside the sixteenth-pole then took the lead but was denied while just able to get the place. CHIPS AND FISH moved in while establishing a forward position, stalked the pace on the outside in the three path, was given his cue on the far turn, chased under a drive into the final furlong, gained to make a bid outside the sixteenth-pole, fought between horses late and missed while able to get the show. BLAME IT ON K J dropped back early, settled towards the rear in the two path, moved to the three path late on the far turn, angled out in upper stretch and gained with late energy to get the last spot in the superfecta. VINTAGE VINO moved in early, settled on the inside, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole and improved position. ROYAL BROWNE had his head turned at the start and was off a bit slow, moved in early, was rated in the two path, came under encouragement on the far turn, moved out under a drive inside the three-sixteenths pole and lacked the needed response. CIRO DI MARZIO angled in while going to the front, showed the way on the inside, was asked near the quarter-pole then came under a drive in upper stretch, led into the final furlong, lost the advantage near the sixteenth-pole and weakened. BOLD LOVE saved ground towards the rear, moved out while asked for his best in upper stretch and was no factor. SICILIAN DEFENSE was hustled from the gate then moved in, prompted the pace on the outside in the two path, was asked on the far turn, dropped back in upper stretch and tired. TAKE A STANCE was taken under a tight hold early then reserved in the two to three path, came under urging on the far turn, turned into the stretch in the five path and failed to threaten.
