Footnotes
BOSTON'S PHINEST broke alertly from the inside post, was eased back just off the pace, raced just behind the leader on the inside, was shuffled back when TWISTED FILIGREE dropped back in front into the turn then checked with three furlongs to run, lost plenty of position in the process, was roused near the quarter-pole then cut the corner into the stretch, rallied under a right-handed crop into the final furlong, closed strongly into the final sixteenth, jumped marks on the track while gaining late and got up in the last bob to narrowly prevail. COURTLY BANKER bumped hard with a foe at the start, moved up to get the lead at the half-mile pole, went clear at the seven-sixteenths pole, raced inside on the turn, spun into the stretch in the two path, was given one pop of a left-handed crop in the vicinity of the three-sixteenths pole, switched to a right-handed crop while coming further out in the track outside the furlong marker, led until the final stride but was denied while clear for the place. TWISTED FILIGREE was hustled from the gate, set the early pace, lost the lead near the half-mile pole, dropped back at the seven-sixteenths pole, was roused in the two path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, kept on willingly in the final furlong and narrowly earned the show. PROJECTABILITY broke out and bumped hard with an opponent, was urged along off the pace, paused in the two path behind a troubled foe inside the three-eighths pole, turned into upper stretch under a drive and improved to just miss the show. VACATION DANCE settled on the outside, was roused in the three then four path on the turn and lacked the needed kick. FUNNY FACTOR bumped hard with a rival at the start, was coaxed along in third position, chased in the three path on the turn and lacked the needed response. DISARMED bumped with a foe at the start, dropped back between horses then was reserved near the rear, angled from the inside to the four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path and failed to rally. GRAYWING broke a bit slow, was bumped on both sides and bounced around then checked while squeezed back, settled on the outside, dropped from the four path to the inside on the second half of the the turn and was no factor.
