Footnotes
THE GOOD LIFE broke in at the start brushing GOT TOUGH, established the front soon after and showed the way in hand just off the inside patiently handled through swift splits, got set down spinning just off the inside into upper stretch, drew off under a drive to the eighth pole, then got ridden out through the final sixteenth to the finish to score. POWERLINE coaxed from the start, grew rank facing kickback from JOHNNY HOCKEY down the backstretch tossing his head loosely between foes to the half mile pole, tucked to the two path into the turn before making his way to the rail three furlongs out forcing GOT TOUGH to very briefly take hold, came under urging near and spun just off the inside at the quarter pole and got bumped solidly straightened away by JOHNNY HOCKEY, who was directed in in a premature attempt to switch leads, offered up a mild kick to chase the winner home clear of the rest and along second best. GOT TOUGH got brushed at the break by THE GOOD LIFE, chased just off the inside and then along the inside coming under a ride near the quarter pole, swung four wide into upper stretch, angled in one path near the eighth pole, then got carried in by GREENWELL to the rail and improved position to secure the show honors on the wire. JOHNNY HOCKEY broke on top coaxed from the gate, chased three wide coming under a ride from the three-eighths marker, swung three wide at the quarter pole and then came in under an active left rein and bumped POWERLINE solidly just inside the quarter pole in an attempt to switch leads before straightening away, dug in under a drive and weakened in the late stages. GREENWELL coaxed from the gate, bobbled a few strides after the start, chased four then three wide under a ride with five-sixteenths to go, angled five to six wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive lugging in and carrying in GOT TOUGH from the three path to the rail inside the eighth pole and tired. LET EM KNOW made a small lunge at the break, chased four wide under encouragement from the five-sixteenths marker, tipped six wide into upper stretch and tired.
