Footnotes
LEARNTODISCOVER (GB) was bumped at the start and forced into another foe, settled well back in the field, bumped with LONGSHOREMAN inside the nine-sixteenths pole, moved from the hedge to the four path on the turn, came into upper stretch in the six path then shifted further out, rallied outside into the final furlong and closed with a rush to get up late and prevail. THROCKMORTON was bumped at the start and forced into another foe, established a good position just off the pace, was given his cue while inside on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, moved to the two path in pursuit of the leader into the final furlong, gained into the final sixteenth, made a bid between horses late but just missed while narrowly able to get the place. MONSTER broke in and bumped with a rival, went to the front then showed the way, moved from the two path to the inside early on the turn, responded well when roused a bit off the inside into upper stretch then extended the advantage under a drive, remained clear into the final sixteenth, led until the final strides but was caught while clear for the show. STRADALE settled in the back half of the field, was roused in the four path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and improved to get the last spot in the superfecta. INTRICATE SPIRIT broke a half-step slow then had his path taken, was hard held while rank at the rear, tucked from the three path to the two path on the turn, was held up behind horses from the five-sixteenths to the quarter-pole, moved out while asked in upper stretch, steadied while blocked from the outside the furlong to outside the sixteenth-pole and improved late in a tough trip. EL MAGNATE settled on the outside, was urged along in the three then four path on the turn, came into the stretch in the five path and lacked the needed kick. ROCKIES BALBOA was urged along off the pace, dropped back leaving the backstretch, went around the turn in the three path and lacked the needed response. UNWRITTEN RULE brushed with a foe at the start, was urged along near the middle of the field, traveled around the turn in the two path and lacked the needed kick. JOHNNY'S RED STORM was loaded without the rider, came away fast, pressed the pace on the outside, chased in the two path on the turn, dropped back in upper stretch and tired. LONGSHOREMAN brushed with an opponent at the start, bumped with LEARNTODISCOVER inside the nine-sixteenths pole, moved from the two path to the inside early on the turn, saved ground into the stretch and failed to rally then was reported to have bled. EWING was bumped just after the start, settled under some urging, saved ground on the turn, drifted out near the sixteenth-pole and failed to impact. BOBROVSKY tracked the pace on the outside, chased in the four then three path on the turn, dropped back in the four path into upper stretch and capitulated. FOLLOWING THE RACE, THE RIDER OF INTRICATE SPIRIT CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST MONSTER ALLEGING INTEFERENCE AT THE START. AFTER THE STEWARDS' REVIEW, NO CHANGE WAS MADE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH
