Footnotes
HEAT MISSILE (AUS) brushed with a foe early, settled off the pace, was roused in the three path on the turn, came into the stretch in the five path, rallied while remaining on her inside lead, swapped to the proper lead while making a bid outside the furlong marker, took the lead inside that marker and drew clear under strong urging. QUEEN JUNO broke out then was hustled, settled on the outside, tucked in near the half-mile pole, was asked in the three path on the turn, rallied to make a bid in upper stretch, held a short lead into the final furlong, was headed by the winner shortly thereafter and outfinished while able to get the place. ONE MORE GUITAR was carried out some at the start, angled in at the rear, dropped well behind under urging, moved from the rail to the three path late on the turn, turned into the stretch in the five path then moved further out and improved to get the show. SILSBEE bumped with JUST ADD WATER at the start, steadied briefly off heels early, moved up to race just off the pace while having the rider reach down to adjust his left iron, was taken up some while lugging out leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the turn, tossed her head outside the five-sixteenths pole, bumped with ONLY FOR NOW while trying to go forward impatiently nearing the quarter-pole then checked, was put to a drive in upper stretch, moved out while still on her inside lead near the furlong marker, swapped to the proper lead in the vicinity of the sixteenth-pole and lacked the needed kick then just missed the show. DUBOFF was hustled from the gate, showed speed then pressed the pace on the outside of two foes, vied in the three path on the turn, led narrowly passing the three-sixteenths pole, battled under a drive into the final furlong, dropped back into the final sixteenth and weakened then caught for the superfecta. PAULA'S A STAR moved out early, was urged along on the outside, traveled around the turn in the four path, spun into the stretch in the six path and lacked the needed response. ONLY FOR NOW pressed the pace between horses, chased in the two path for most of the turn then moved to the three path, was bumped by SILSBEE at the quarter-pole and tired. LADY JANCIS showed speed then set the pace, lugged out under extra left-rein pressure leaving the turn, vied inside to the two path on that bend, lost the advantage before the three-sixteenths pole and gave way. ARMY GAL angled in while settling towards the rear, moved from the rail to the three path on the turn, was roused in the four path into the stretch and also lacked the needed response. JUST ADD WATER bumped with SILSBEE at the start, showed speed between horses, was eased back off the pace around the nine-sixteenths pole, dropped further back leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the turn and failed to respond.
