Footnotes
SEA STRIKE coaxed from the gate, got floated out four wide into the first turn by the leader GULFY and in turn carried CHIEF WALLABEE briefly five wide and BLACKOUT TIME six wide, tucked three wide directly after and settled three wide just off the leader into the backstretch, remained patiently handled tracking that rival in closest aim on hold until given a notch to work with just inside the five-sixteenths marker, advanced to take command just outside the quarter pole and spun just off the inside into upper stretch and was roused straightened away, went clear under a drive and was geared down inside the final sixteenth to the finish with the outcome in no doubt. CHIEF WALLABEE got floated out five wide into the first turn and was eased off to tuck four wide behind the aforementioned foe before continuing in three then two wide coming under a rating hold into nearing the backstretch when pulling a bit keen briefly before settling behind SEA STRIKE three paths off the rail down the backstretch, continued three wide through the far turn and came under light coaxing nearing the quarter pole, angled four wide into upper stretch set down for the drive, proved no match for the top one while keeping on clear of the rest along second best and was geared down outside the sixteenth pole with the place honors sewn up. GULFY coaxed from the gate directly to the front, got coaxed along lightly briefly after the break before floating three wide into the first turn carrying out SEA STRIKE four wide, CHIEF WALLABEE five wide and in turn BLACKOUT TIME six wide into the first turn in a moment of gamesmanship, tucked to the two path and showed the way in hand through the remainder of the turn and down the backstretch, tucked inside with half a mile to go, came under light coaxing midway on the far turn and steadily came under more urgency nearing the quarter pole, got displaced from command just outside that station and spun three then two wide into upper stretch, weakened through to the finish while along clear for the show honors. MINORINCONVENIENCE coaxed from the start, raced five then four wide into the first turn despite being behind the trio carried out by GULFY into that bend, quickly tucked to the two path by midway before tipping out to be four to five paths off the inside down the backstretch, went four wide through the far turn coming under urging with seven-sixteenths to go, angled six wide at the head of the stretch and tired. BLACKOUT TIME brushed the off side stall at the start, got floated six wide into the first turn, tucked directly to the two path by midway, chased three then two wide coming under coaxing three furlongs out, angled five wide into upper stretch and tired and was eased home inside the final furlong. TIERNANOGUE coaxed from the gate, raced along the inside through the first turn and down the backstretch, tipped two then three wide to move around the backing away MOUNT VERNON along the rail when placed to coaxing with seven-sixteenths to go, angled six wide into upper stretch and was eased home through to the finish. MOUNT VERNON raced along the inside through the first turn under a firm hold tracking from just off the pace, began to back away after completing the opening half mile and retreated through the far turn, went three wide into upper stretch and was eased home to the wire.
