HAND OVER HEART got checked at the start when MERMAID veered out taking over her lane and conceded four to five lengths to the front before settling into stride, chased three then two wide through the first turn before heading three paths off the hedge down the backstretch, continued three wide through the far turn coming under coaxing near the quarter pole before being set down spinning seven to eight wide into upper stretch, closed in through the final furlong in tandem with SAIL WITH THE WIND to overthrow the leader just inside the sixteenth marker and then was just up on the wire to share in the victory. SAIL WITH THE WIND raced just off the inside through the first turn and then four paths off the inside thereafter remaining patiently handled until roused angled seven wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive rallying in concert with the aforementioned foe through the final furlong overtaking the leader to seize command just inside the sixteenth marker, dug in head to head clinging to a narrow advantage until under the line when forced to share in victory. SCRATCH IT chased along the inside and then just off the inside coming under a ride nearing the quarter pole, swung three to four wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command with three-sixteenths to go, dug in under a drive under threat from a trio and was collared just inside the sixteenth pole by the top pair and then just held off a third challenger to preserve the show honors at the finish. CARMENSITA (ARG) got steadied after the start when MERMAID continued outwards after forcing HAND OVER HEART to check, tracked the pace along the inside until tipped to the two path put to encouragement with five-sixteenths remaining, angled five wide into upper stretch, closed well to the wire and just missed for the show honors. TWO MARTINI'S three then two wide through the first turn, chased just off the inside coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, tipped three wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild bid but was outkicked. MERMAID veered out at the start forcing HAND OVER HEART to check at the break and then CARMENSITA to steady after the start, raced three wide through the first turn pressing the pace of LADY RIVER LILY from the outside, widened away as a team from the rest of the field into the backstretch, eased off that rival midway down the backstretch before advancing once more tucked to the two path into the far turn, took over the front with five-sixteenths to go and spun two to three wide into upper stretch, yielded the front at the three-sixteenths pole and weakened in the late stages. LADY RIVER LILY broke out at the start and was corrected, showed the way lightly coaxed along the inside under pressure from MERMAID to the outside until midway down the backstretch when in the clear, had that rival advance once more and came under threat through the far turn yielding the front with five-sixteenths to run, spun two to three wide for home and weakened in the stretch. LOVELY CHRISTINA just off the inside through the first turn, chased three wide coming under a ride near the quarter pole, went five to six wide into upper stretch and weakened in the drive.
