FELINE CURIOUS established the front shortly after the start and tucked inside forcing HOUSING MARKET to steady off his heels, showed the way in hand along the inside, got out slightly to the two path into the first turn forcing DEMOCRACY DEFENDER to take hold off his heels before making his way back to the inside, settled into a comfortable rhythm patiently handled until placed to coaxing near the quarter pole, continued in the inside route into upper stretch, edged away under a drive to the eighth pole, dug in under growing late threat and just lasted with the bob on the wire. DEMOCRACY DEFENDER raced just off the inside early on and was forced to steady off the heels of the aforementioned foe into the first turn, tucked to the rail and in turn forced PAY THE PIPER to take hold off his heels six and a half furlongs from home, tracked the leader along the inside getting set down taking the inside route into upper stretch, tipped out to the two path straightened away when allowed out by OKEFENOKEE, rallied with good energy to close stoutly outside and just missed on the wire by a nod of the head. QUICK PICK raced just off the inside through the first turn, chased two to three wide coming under a ride with five-sixteenths to go, swung three wide into upper stretch, altered out a path near the three-sixteenths when OKEFENOKEE tipped out in front, offered up a mild kick. PAY THE PIPER fractious in the gate prior to the start, brushed the off side stall at the start, got steadied briefly just after the break, tracked the front along the inside and was steadied with six and a half furlongs remaining when DEMOCRACY DEFENDER tucked in front at that station, settled tracking just off the inside down the backstretch before returning to the inside into the far turn coming under urging three furlongs from home, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, offered up a mild bid. OKEFENOKEE attended the leader from the outside in the two path, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and spun just off the inside into upper stretch, tipped to the three path just outside the three-sixteenths marker and weakened in the late stages. HOUSING MARKET (FR) along the inside early on, got steadied off the heels of FELINE CURIOUS one mile out when that rival tucked in front, raced a bit keen and green under restraint and went two to three wide through the first turn before settling on the two path down the backstretch, tucked inside through the far turn and came under a ride near the quarter pole, spun two to three wide into upper stretch and trailed.
