Footnotes
JOHN THE BEER MAN established the front just inside five furlongs to run and showed the way just off the inside, got set down spinning just off the inside into upper stretch straightening away to the inside, dug in under a drive under threat from a pair of rivals, got bumped a quartet of times inside the final sixteenth and gamely fended off the duo to prevail on the wire. WARALO chased two to three wide coming under a ride with five-sixteenths to run, spun three then two wide into upper stretch, had DONCHO come outwards to take two path and was nudged out despite trying to hold his lane with a tug on the left rein near the three-sixteenths marker, had DONCHO force his way in between rivals near the eighth pole and was bumped inside that station when DONCHO, under a left handed crop, bumped him once more and turned out his hind end, widening his new created lane, fought on now under a right handed crop himself to keep his path and traded bumps inside the sixteenth marker with DONCHO bouncing around JOHN THE BEER MAN as well along their inside and missed at the finish. DONCHO led early on briefly before chasing along the inside, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and then leaned out bulling his way to the two path and bumping WARALO the rightful owner of that path to be three wide to gain a seam between that foe and the leader inside, dug in tight between rivals and came out under a left handed crop bumping WARALO and turning out his hind end just inside the eighth pole to widen the seam, then fought on between foes initiating a trade of four to five bumps inside the sixteenth marker being shown a left handed crop and getting bounced around steps from the finish, the rider pausing and missed at the end. TWENTY SIX BLACK coaxed from the gate, chased just off the inside coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, angled four to five wide into upper stretch and offered up a mild kick. COPPOLA chased three paths off the inside down the backstretch, tucked inside into the turn, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and spun three wide into upper stretch, then offered up a mild bid. DANCING BUCK bobbled at the break, chased along the inside and then just off the inside, got let out angled six to seven wide into upper stretch and kicked on belatedly to the finish. WORKS FOR ME chased just off the inside coming under a ride near the quarter pole, angled five to six wide into upper stretch and made no headway. REZASROLEX brushed the off side stall at the start, chased three to four wide under urging from the five-sixteenths pole, swung four to five wide for home and weakened. There was a Stewards' Inquiry into the stretch run focusing on JOHN THE BEER MAN, DONCHO, and WARALO as well as a Claim of Foul by the rider of DONCHO against both JOHN THE BEER MAN and WARALO. After review, WARALO was disqualified from second and placed third having been deemed to have interfered with DONCHO before the race was declared official.
