MIDNIGHT CONCERTO saved ground near the rear of the field, traded a bump with TRAIL OF GOLD near the five-sixteenths marker when that rival attempted to hem him in while he attempted to tip out, won the seam and rallied on through before angling three to four wide into upper stretch, offered up a good finish to close stoutly outside and was up in the last jumps to prevail. TULIP a bit keen early on showing the way four paths off the rail through the stretch the first time, tucked inside into the turn and spurted away into the backstretch, settled better midway and had the field take closer order into the far turn, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and spun three then two wide into upper stretch, dug in under threat from MAJAZ and repelled that rival inside the eighth pole, then got nailed in the final jumps to the finish. MAJAZ (GB) settled tracking the leader in closest aim just off the inside, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and swung four then three wide into upper stretch, offered up a bid a furlong out getting on near even terms for command, then got repelled inside that station and was along clear for the show honors. MAKE YOU MINE (IRE) tracked the pace along the inside under encouragement from the five-sixteenths marker, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, weakened in the late stages. TRAIL OF GOLD settled tracking along the inside through the first turn and then just off the inside into the backstretch, tipped three wide nearing the seven-sixteenths pole and advanced outside rivals into the far turn getting coaxed along with three furlongs to run, tucked in to hem in MIDNIGHT CONCERTO and was met by that rival tipping out and traded a bump with five-sixteenths to go, spun three wide into upper stretch and made no headway. SPECIAL WOOD (FR) two to three wide in pursuit, came under urging with five-sixteenths to go, continued two to three wide into upper stretch and tired.
