INTELLECT (FR) was taken in hand early, went around the first turn in the two path, was rated on the outside but with cover, moved from the two path to the four path on the far turn, was roused near the quarter-pole, rallied in the five path to get the lead near the three-sixteenths pole, kicked clear outside the furlong marker and proved much the best under steady urging. COSMIC YEAR (GB) bumped solidly with MAKES SENSE at the start, was rated just off the pace on the inside, moved to the two path late on the far turn, was asked at the top of the stretch, chased the winner under a drive to the finish and was second best. PAROS tucked in outside the seven-eighths pole, rounded the first turn in the two path, was reserved with cover, came under urging while going from two path to the five path on the far turn, moved out under a drive in upper stretch and lacked the needed response but was clear for the show. MAUI STRONG established a forward position early, stalked the pace on the outside in the three path, engaged the leader on the far turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and came up empty. MAKES SENSE bumped solidly with COSMIC YEAR at the start, dropped back along the inside early, saved ground on the first turn, settled at the rear, was urged along in the two then three path on the far turn, came into the stretch in the four path then shifted further out and failed to threaten. FROSTED OVER became keen under restraint while outside early, dropped in with seven furlongs to run, raced in the three path on the first turn, settled near the rear, dropped back leaving the backstretch, dropped from the two path to the inside on the final turn and failed to rally. HIGH BETA brushed the inside of the gate at the start, went to the front, traveled around the opening bend in the two path, showed the way with a clear advantage, dropped in leaving the backstretch, was asked along the rail while challenged on the far turn, lost the lead at the quarter-pole and tired.
