MAXIMUM HEAT broke out and hit the gate, went around the first turn in the four path, moved up to get the lead early on the backstretch, went clear with five furlongs to run then moved in, dropped from the two path to the inside on the far turn, was asked inside the five-sixteenths pole, spun off the rail at the quarter-pole, drifted out while drawing off under a left-handed crop in upper stretch, swapped back to his inside lead when switched to a right-handed crop outside the furlong marker, was geared down by the rider outside the sixteenth-pole then went back to the proper lead and proved much the best. MO CURLS was hustled from the gate, raced in the three path on the first turn, dropped back inside the three-quarter pole then moved out with about five furlongs to run, was urged along passing the nine-sixteenths pole, went around the far turn in the four path, turned into upper stretch under a drive then moved in and safely secured second money. D C BOY'S broke out and hit the gate then bumped lightly with LOBBYIST, went to the front while inside on the first turn, lost the lead early on the backstretch then dropped just off the pace, chased in the three path on the far turn, drifted out in upper stretch and weakened. LOBBYIST was bumped lightly at the start then hustled, went around the early part of the first turn in the three then four path, dropped to the rail late on that bend, settled at the rear, was roused outside the half-mile pole, shifted from the rail to the three path while retreating on the far turn, dropped back in the five path into the stretch and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off.
