SCRAMJET broke alertly and went straight to the front then angled in early, set the pace under pressure to his outside, moved clear in the two path on the turn, was asked outside the quarter-pole then was challenged to the inside by MINDFELD while in the three path into the stretch, battled with that foe under a right-handed crop into the final furlong, was given one final pop of the crop outside the sixteenth-pole and edged clear late under a confident hand-ride while being flagged with a right-handed crop. MINDFIELD broke out and bumped soundly with SANTIS, was urged along off the pace, dropped from the five path to the inside on the turn, gained to make a bid inside of the winner into the stretch, remained on his inside lead while battling with that foe, swapped to the proper lead inside the three-sixteenths pole, fought with SCRAMJET into the final sixteenth and was outfinished while clear for the place. BIG HANDSOME broke alertly and showed speed, pressed the pace on the outside of the leader while loosely between horses, chased in the three path on the turn, turned into upper stretch in the four path while under a drive and weakened but earned the show. EQUILIBRATE broke in then was hustled, raced under urging early, took a few strides without urging when foes crossed in front around the five-eighths pole then came back under urging, went around the turn in the two path, was driven into the stretch in the three path while under the crop, moved out outside the furlong marker and failed to threaten. SARATOGA TEA was hustled from the gate then urged along off the pace, saved ground on the turn and lacked the needed response. SILVER KNIGHT showed speed then chased the pace on the outside, dropped back some in the four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path, drifted out under a left-handed crop inside the three-sixteenths pole and tired. TOP THRILLER was off very slow then drifted in, spotted the front many lengths, saved ground while urged along at the rear and was no factor. UPPER ECHELON dropped back under urging while showing no speed, went around the turn in the two path and showed little. SANTIS was bumped soundly at the start, angled out under urging early, went around the turn in the four path and failed to respond.
