SPIRIT OF THE LAW broke in then was hustled, rounded the opening bend in the two path, settled on the outside, was urged along late on the backstretch, chased in the four path on the far turn, made a bid into upper stretch then gained the lead, responded well while outside of two opponents in the final furlong and held under strong urging. ASKINGFORAFRIEND was away awkwardly then hustled, moved from the two path to the rail early on the first turn, was well placed just off the pace, saved ground on the far turn, cut the corner into the stretch, made a bid while squeezing through inside of the pacesetter at the three-sixteenths pole, was roused for more outside the furlong marker, battled gamely with two foes to the finish and missed while narrowly able to get the place. OAT COUTOUR moved from the four path to the three path early on the first turn, tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid in the three path under urging on the far turn, spun into the stretch under the crop, fought on well with two foes into the final sixteenth and just missed the place while well clear for the show. ZEUS LIGHTNING bumped with a rival at the start then was hustled to the front, dropped from the three path to the two path early on the first turn, showed the way down the backstretch, vied in the two path while asked on the far turn, lost the advantage under a drive in upper stretch and gave way. WILLPOWERED broke a bit slow, angled in at the rear of the field, saved ground under urging on the first turn, settled towards the rear, was ridden along late on the backstretch, went around the far turn in the two path and was no factor. KLIMT MASTER leaned out at the start and brushed the gate then bumped with a foe, raced in the three path on the first turn, was urged along on the backstretch, moved out outside the half-mile pole, rounded the far turn in the four path, dropped back in the six path into the stretch and failed to respond.
