Footnotes
PASSING GAME broke out at the start, raced in the two path on the first turn, prompted the pace on the outside, vied in the three path while on even terms for the lead on the far turn, took the advantage near the five-sixteenths pole, was roused outside the quarter-pole, shook clear under a strong hand-ride into upper stretch, was put to a left-handed crop inside the three-sixteenths pole, remained under the crop until outside the sixteenth-pole then was placed under a hand-ride to the finish while much the best. REGISTER went to the front, showed the way on the inside, was asked under threat on the far turn, lost the advantage to the winner near the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back under a drive into upper stretch and proved no match while well clear for the place. FLAT ON was carried out at the start, dropped from the three path to the two path on the first turn, settled in a good position down the backstretch, was roused outside the half-mile pole, chased in the two path on the far turn, passed the five-sixteenths pole under the crop, was driven into the stretch in the four path and came up empty while best of the rest. HERO'S MEDAL was last to commence, angled in from the five path to the two path on the first turn, was urged along at the rear, went around the far turn in the two to three path, spun into the stretch under the crop and was no factor. NOTAH broke out at the start, rounded the first turn in the four path, tracked the pace on the outside, was given his cue near the seven-sixteenths pole, chased in the four path on the far turn, dropped back late on that bend, turned into the stretch in the six path and faltered.
