Footnotes
VEHEMENTE was hustled hard to the front, showed the way in the two path, extended the advantage with five furlongs to run, was roused in the two path on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the four path, came under a right-handed crop while remaining on her inside lead inside the three-sixteenths pole then drifted in, was given one final pop of the crop inside the furlong marker, continued on her inside lead to the finish and held under strong urging. KAY CUP showed speed on the outside of a foe, conceded the front into the first turn, went around that bend in the three path, followed the solo leader from second, was asked near the seven-sixteenths pole, chased in the three path on the far turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive while behind the pacesetter, moved out outside the furlong marker and finished willingly to just get the place. VALTELLINA went around the first turn in the four path, was reserved on the outside, came under urging inside the half-mile pole, went around the far turn in the four path, was driven into the stretch in the five path, drifted out a bit near the furlong marker, kept on willingly to the finish and just missed the place while clear for the show. CARMEN'S CANDY JAR moved from the rail to the two path on the first turn, settled off the pace, dropped from the two path to the inside early on the far turn, saved ground from that point under urging into the stretch and failed to rally. LOTTIE MARGARET was hustled from the gate then angled in at the rear, went around the first turn in the two then three path, raced in hand between horses passing the seven-eighths pole, settled at the rear, moved in under urging late on the backstretch, saved ground on the far turn and faltered.
