Footnotes
IRON DOME was away alertly then dropped off the early pace, moved from the two path to the three path on the first turn, followed the clear leader from second, moved closer near the nine-sixteenths pole, ranged up in the three path to make a bid on the far turn, took the lead under his own power coming to the five-sixteenths pole, was asked in the four path at the quarter-pole then kicked clear, came under a right-handed crop while drawing away nearing the furlong marker, was given one final pop of the crop outside the sixteenth-pole then was placed under a hand-ride to the finish to win with his ears pricked. HIT THE POST was hustled to the front then went clear, dropped from the three path to the two path early on the first turn, extended the advantage early on the backstretch, was asked in the two path early on the far turn, lost the advantage to the winner approaching the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back under urging into upper stretch and proved no match while able to get the place. KING'S LEAP was hustled from the gate, took a very awkward stride against the rail nearing the first turn, moved from the inside to the two path early on that bend, was urged along on the backstretch, moved closer near the half-mile pole, rounded most of the far turn in the two path, brushed with a rival around the five-sixteenths pole, moved to the three then four path late on that bend, spun into the stretch in the five path and weakened while able to get the show. JUST LICORICE broke a bit awkwardly then was hustled, dropped in to save ground on the first turn, settled off the pace, was urged along passing the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground on the far turn, brushed with an opponent near the five-sixteenths pole and came up empty then was transported off the track via equine ambulance. SKY MASTERSON moved from the two path to the three path on the first turn, settled on the outside, was roused with a half-mile to run, traveled around the far turn in the three path and failed to respond.
