Footnotes
BEST BET brushed the outside of the gate at the start then was hustled to the lead, showed the way in the two path while inside of an opponent, responded well when asked near the quarter-pole, kicked clear into upper stretch, came under a right-handed crop inside the three-sixteenths pole, extended the advantage into the final furlong, switched to a left-handed crop and was given one pop inside the sixteenth-pole then was placed under a hand-ride to the finish while much the best. BREW PUB raced in the three path on the first turn, settled off the pace, was roused outside the half-mile pole, went around the far turn in the three then four path, turned into upper stretch under a drive and improved to get the place. PEEK settled on the inside, dropped back under urging leaving the backstretch, saved ground through the far turn and lacked the needed kick while keeping on to get the show. QUICK HAMMER was hustled from the gate then swerved inward, rounded the opening bend in the three path, prompted the pace on the outside, vied in the three path on the far turn, was asked late on that bend, dropped back into upper stretch, chased the winner into the final furlong and tired. BOLD ENDEAVOR was hustled from the gate then brushed with a foe, traveled around the first turn in the two path, settled off the pace, dropped back while urged along in the two path on the far turn and lacked the needed response. ERIC FROM MIAMI rounded the first turn in the four path, settled on the outside, dropped back under urging in the four path on the far turn and also lacked the needed response. ROYAL TRYST broke a step slow then dropped back, moved from the five path to the three path early on the first turn, was urged along at the rear of the field, went around the far turn in the three path, turned into the stretch in the six path then moved further out and failed to threaten. CUMBERLAND BLUES saved ground on the first turn, was urged along well off the pace, went around the far turn in the two path and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off.
