Footnotes
BOTTAS angled in at the rear of the field, saved ground on the first turn, was unhurried at the back, moved closer late on the backstretch, went around most of the far turn in the two path then shifted to the three path, angled to the five path outside the quarter-pole, rallied outside while remaining on his inside lead in upper stretch, closed strongly to get the lead nearing the sixteenth-pole then moved clear under good handling while continuing on his inside lead to the finish. FRANKLIN DELANO established a forward position early, raced in the three path early on the first turn, was carried out to the four path about midway through that bend then dropped back to the three path, was well placed down the backstretch, came under urging in the two path on the far turn, chased into upper stretch, made a bid while still on his inside lead at the furlong marker, took the lead outside the sixteenth-pole but was overtaken while showing good courage on his inside lead for the place. FERAL went around the first turn in the two path, settled off the pace, was roused while shifting from the hedge to the three path on the far turn, moved out in upper stretch then chased in good striking position, drifted in over heels into the final furlong and weakened but just earned the show. AMBASSADOR BLUE veered in at the start, tugged hard on the bit while taken under stout restraint early, took an awkward stride near the wire for the first time, moved through along the hedge to take the lead on the first turn, showed the way down the backstretch, moved clear around the seven-sixteenths pole, was asked near the quarter-pole then came under a drive in upper stretch, lost the advantage inside the furlong marker and tired then just missed the show. QUIET POWER saved ground for most of the first turn then shifted to the three path, settled off the pace, was roused in the there path on the far turn, shifted to the four path late on that bend, drifted inward in upper stretch, moved out near the furlong marker and lacked the needed response. AMADOR moved in while going to the front, lugged out from the two path to the five path on the first turn, lost the lead in the process then stalked on the outside, dropped back late on the backstretch, came up empty in the three path on the far turn and retreated.
